I dont know if you noticed, but we did it.

Video games are mainstream.

(There are an estimated 2.6 billion gamers in the world today, and 40% are over age 35.)

Dear Millenials,

Perhaps the irony of this is that we millennials, along with our fellow older gamers - are busy as hell. Whether we have kids to look after, jobs to maintain, or loved ones to be with, there are a hundred and one things more important in our lives than video games. But - I don't know about you, I still enjoy checking out the latest titles.

For the first time in history - we have gamers becoming grandparents. This means things are different now. Square Enix spent $200 million on Final Fantasy VII Remake - a game entirely aimed at recapturing our favourite gaming memories from nearly 30 years ago, in 1997. Gaming in adulthood is here to stay, companies recognise the buying power of us as an audience; but review sites are still talking to gamers like we're twenty years old (and to be fair, lots of gamers are).

Independent, no-nonsense reviews
